• Work in a large health system supporting the Eagle/LIJ, Eagleview Data Warehouse, Invision/LIJ, and Optimum/LIJ Valley Stream billing systems.
• Heavy focus will be on Eagle and Eagleview Systems, requiring a strong SQL programming background, along with SSIS and SSRS in order to automate the scheduling of jobs out the Eagleview environment.
• Responsible for working with the business community, interpreting their business requirements, developing technical specifications for the programmers, and ensuring the final product meets client expectations.
• Act as an IS Liaison to the Patient Accounting dept. at Northwell Health.
• Will have direct interaction with the IS staff and Patient Accounting leadership and staff.
• Will function in a role as our go to person for all SQL & SSIS How to programming questions.
• Will need to work closely with the Northwell Health (TCoE) Application Testing environment as required for all New Project based application upgrades.
• Design report solutions that align with data management principles, policies, standards and best practices
• Support reporting cycles (ie daily, weekly, monthly)
• Adhere and develop all documentation standards, development lifecycle tasks, and status reporting requirements
• Work under the direction of the Manager to provide technical application solutions for assigned business areas.
• Identify the common causes of the defects, prioritize them and systematically remove them so that they do not reoccur in further development work.
• Codes, tests, debugs, implements, and documents programs or technical configuration.
• Perform technical application configuration and configure /run reports at user request.
• Design and execute unit, system and integration test plans for new developments/releases/reports.
• Maintain technical documentation based on standard operating procedures in support of the assigned application.
• Provide production support.
• Interface with Various Teams to assist in resolving support calls escalated by the Service Desk.

Quality and adherence to Standards

• Ensure all work is reviewed to ensure adherence to the relevant development standards.
• Peer review and sign-off of others work.
• Timely and accurate reporting of project status as required by Line or Project Manager.
• Participate in the creation and revision of accurate detailed estimates.
• Mentor junior team members in best practices and standards

Academic and Professional Qualifications:

• BA or BS degree preferred and/or other relevant combination of training and experience.

Experience:

• 2-5 years of experience in SQL and report development.
• Industry experience preferred
• Ability to work with the customers, gather requirements, converting requirements into Specifications and review results with the customer.
• Hospital Industry experience preferred
• Proficient in MS SQL Server 2008 R2 MS SQL SERVER 2016 including T-SQL, SSIS, SSRS and Visual Studio Tools.
• Proficient in Microsoft development in C#, Windows Powershell, and Visual Basic.
• Effective troubleshooting and performance tuning skills - should be able to identify and resolve moderate performance issues
• Demonstrated understanding of relational database design and architecture
• Demonstrated ability to develop online reporting solutions that meet business needs
• Customer service with ability to develop effective partnerships across the organization

• Previous experience in a health care environment with a strong Patient Management & Patient Accounting background
• Strong Eagle hospital billing background
• Must have enough Eagle, Invision, & Optimum technical knowledge to perform routine upgrades.
• Quality Assurance and change control experience
• Proficiency in MS Word, Access, Excel and Visio.
• Ability to organize, plan, and carry out multiple concurrent objectives or activities, and effectively make judgments in prioritizing and time allocation
• Ability to work independently as well as under the direction of senior team members
